crunchee
Carl Perkins' 1955 recording of "Honey Don't" (the B-side of "Blue Suede Shoes") goes from a E chord to C7 instead of the more conventional A: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_Don't Perkins was asked about it in a Guitar Player Magazine interview in 1997, and he said: "Well, that just proves that I didn't know what the hell I was doing, or I wouldn't have thought it'd work. I was just trying to hook something together to sound a little different, I thought if I could write a song that doesn't sound like everybody else, I might have a chance." m chops
I enjoyed that. It would have made more sense, however, if I had seen that about 15 years ago when I was starting to understand such things!
