WTF Why???

Think of this like early computer graphics that were very squared and boxy without detail.  Now there are lifelike characters moving in realistic ways on movie screens that were created by computers.

One day your 3-D printer is going to spit out a perfect Strat body.  The guitar above is just the 1985 version of what is to come.

Looks like someone got a 3D printer for their Covid 19 lockdown enjoyment.

I did not follow the FB link.

For those who don't wish to click on the FB link here is a pic of the 3 guitars they have for sale at $300 each!

Ad: 3D printed guitars! These were Fender guitars that we disassembled and created with a printed body. *They ARE playable! However, the tuning doesn’t hold very well over time. 300 PER GUITAR!

These are just poorly designed slip covers, kind of like the one's your grandma put on her sofa in the early 60's.

It's a cool exercise, but getting a handle the tuning issue should be a priority (maybe do a neck-thru with printed wings?).  Then there's the shape. Why not something Strat-ish? That there is a bit fugly. I'm guessing neck dive would also be a thing, so there's that. Maybe a Swiss cheese chambered composite body with a wood top to appease us traditionalists? There is potential there, it just needs finessing.

It's like the old Steinbrenners, with no body and no headstock. They were weird AF at first, but they played great and people warmed up to them.

Or not.
