tommy p
I had never heard of them until this post. Still, hate to see a small business like that go under.
Dutchman
From checking his facebook page he’s having issue’s finding enclosures. For those that have never heard of him, his Tone Press compressor is disputably one of the best guitar compressor’s ever built. His gain and distortion pedal’s are right up there too! Steve Haynie
The Tone Press is the one pedal from Barber that I could name.
Jakeboy
I have heard his Gain Changer and Burn Unit are great pedals too.
atomicwash
I use his Half Gainer on one board and a Gain Changer on the other. Great transparent OD’s. Now prices will skyrocket.
hamerhead
Dammit. The Tone Press is a 'never leave' pedal on my board. Anybody got one for sale?
G Man
I've used a Barber Small Fry for years, stacks really well with other ODs as well. Sorry to hear that about his business.

The definition of a staple is the key commodity of a region or an important part of something. An example of a staple is a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. A country's key export is an example of a staple of the economy.
tbonesullivan
That's a dang shame. Hopefully this is just temporary. It may be that it's just not possible to get many of the enclosures and other supplies they need at the current time due to Covid stuff. It's not exactly easy to set up powder coating, silk screening, etc in house for a smaller maker. There's also an EVER INCREASING number of "boutique" pedal makers out there, and it seems like every amp company is getting in on the action as well. This does somewhat dilute the market. There definitely are options out there, it's just a question of what works best for him and his business design.
gtrdaddy
I’ve never really been a compressor user, but I had a Tone Press on a board for over a decade. It was fun and lively sounding when I did choose to stomp on that switch. The only compressor I’d ever bonded with.
cynic
Sounds like this is only a supply-chain issue. Once he's able to source more parts everything will be back to normal. Now we can all go back to waiting for August when we'll learn the secret behind the Lovepedal saga.
Rich_S
He should buy bare metal enclosures, write on them with a Sharpie, call them “limited edition hand-lettered” and charge a premium price. Keeps the lights on, and the TGP crowd will go gaga; swearing they hear a difference. I only half-jest. Hate to see a small business with quality products struggle. The lovepedal saga is so huge that they need a summary for the summary.

Exactly like Mesa Boogie used on the back of pretty much all of their amps up until the Mark III. Even then, the mark III amps have a permanent marker STRIPE on the back, about 1/2 inch long, which tells what version they are. Don't see any of them complaining. JGale
I bought what must be the last available Tone Press in the country, using his dealer list. Last U.S. entry had one in the database. Hope it gets here.
