Barber Pedals No More?

Dutchman

From checking his facebook page he’s having issue’s finding enclosures. For those that have never heard of him, his Tone Press compressor is disputably one of the best guitar compressor’s ever built. His gain and distortion pedal’s are right up there too!

Asshat

What does it mean if something is a staple?
noun. The definition of a staple is the key commodity of a region or an important part of something. An example of a staple is a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. A country's key export is an example of a staple of the economy.

That's a dang shame. Hopefully this is just temporary. It may be that it's just not possible to get many of the enclosures and other supplies they need at the current time due to Covid stuff. It's not exactly easy to set up powder coating, silk screening, etc in house for a smaller maker. There's also an EVER INCREASING number of "boutique" pedal makers out there, and it seems like every amp company is getting in on the action as well. This does somewhat dilute the market.

There definitely are options out there, it's just a question of what works best for him and his business design.

He should buy bare metal enclosures, write on them with a Sharpie, call them “limited edition hand-lettered” and charge a premium price.  Keeps the lights on, and the TGP crowd will go gaga; swearing they hear a difference.

I only half-jest.  Hate to see a small business with quality products struggle.

Sounds like this is only a supply-chain issue.  Once he's able to source more parts everything will be back to normal.

Now we can all go back to waiting for August when we'll learn the secret behind the Lovepedal saga.

The lovepedal saga is so huge that they need a summary for the summary.

He could just get one of those old school label makers that punches in white numbers on black plastic tape. Exactly like Mesa Boogie used on the back of pretty much all of their amps up until the Mark III.

Even then, the mark III amps have a permanent marker STRIPE on the back, about 1/2 inch long, which tells what version they are. Don't see any of them complaining.

I know I’ve been out of circulation for a bit; what happened with LP?!!

That information is apparently only available on a need-to-know basis.

He’s not kidding.   Apparently, some who MAY know are immune to even the Muse’s “DMKLI” demands!
