70's or 80's Standards with ebony fingerboards? Do they exist?

Recommended Posts

Yes they do.  I've seen at least one black one with an Ebony board, and there's at least one cherryburst '79 with an ebony board.

Are the crown inlays pearloid exactly like Gibson? Same size?

That’s the most specific specification question I’ve ever encountered about Hamers. My prediction is that this thread goes south VERY quickly...

Oh. I didn't know it was taboo.

It is difficult to tell in photos if it is MOP or something else. I have only seen dot boards.

Same size, but actual MOP, not pearloid.

Doesn't Hamericas Super Ultimate 4-digit Vector have the same fretboard as that Standard, 0055?

I have not seen a picture of that one in a looong time. Hamerica, or someone else, please post. 🙂

That's the thing about Hamer. NSN.

Never Say Never.

Unless you were asking for an Electraglide inspired axe.

There aren’t many, but they do exist:

You can fill any gaps in your Hamer knowledge with, "The Book":

Not real crazy about the Gibson Byrdland style binding volute at the base of the fretboard on the top photo. Just not a good fit on the Standard IMO.

I thought that Gibson inlays were made of "mother of toilet seat" instead of mother-of-pearl.  In case you are not aware of this, "pearloid" is a fancy way of saying plastic.
