All black and white videos too...I guess makes them look extra sensitive.

I'll add any version of Wagon Wheel, including local bands who say they "put their own spin on it".  No, you don't.  Your version sucks just as much as the original.

I absolutely DETEST “We Built This City”.   Possibly the worst song ever recorded.

Ha!  The first thought I had after seeing this thread was to  link that video just cuz I knew you’d hate it. 😂

Mambo no. 5 - Lou Bega

anything by Ed Sheeran

anything by Adele

I find people that claim they hate country music yet profess their love for Johnny Cash HIGHLY annoying for some reason

Love Shack

Pour Some Sugar on Me

Sugar Sugar - The Archies

Wild Horses

Angie

In My Life

People who think “Dancing in the Moonlight” is by a band called Toploader are the fucking worst human beings... the same with people that prefer Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling” over BJ Thomas.

Reo Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin

anything Rush did after Roll the Bones

most Megadeath

I could fooking go on and on... I might revisit this again at a later time.

I would have to say we built this city.   Not only is it horrid.    Is starshit trying to say their music is responsible for building an actual city?   are people going to take to the streets in the name of this rock and roll song.  Pompous.     I just can’t believe that Peter wolf, who represents Boston rock and roll as well as anybody had something to do with writing that monstrosity

I've ranted about this very thing many times on my podcast.

Yeah, but no "rockers" liked any kind of country music back in the day. To say otherwise is revisionist history, and to latch on to Johnny Cash because Rick Rubin and Trent Reznor did is pathetic.

Bro Country is indeed Country Music. Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line are bonafide country music artists.

it’s like saying Gangsta Rap isn’t hip hop because it’s masculine oriented and commercially successful.

I’d also like to add the fact that Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line’s fans are overwhelmingly female... same with Jason Aldean and Luke Combs.

Country Culture is widely misunderstood by those with no experience within it.

Bro country? Meanwhile, back on earth............

Simple Man by Skynrd gets turned off any and every time I hear it.

Yep. A song about a mother wishing her son would become “simple” is as odious as a song’s message gets.

That said... country culture does indeed value brevity and simplicity... complexity and depth of substance is acceptable as long as it’s wrapped in an outer layer of simplicity.

but then again... Coastal elites seem like rather simple people with complex veneers.

Try being in a band with Skynyrd fans and having to play it.

More times than I can remember I have flat out refused to play that song. I always really disliked the song then I was less experienced at guitar I had to audition for a garage band. Yes, you read that correctly, an audition for a garage band. So, the jerk off lead guitar player says nothing else but "play Simple Man". It was like a F***ing pop quiz! I didn't know the song because I didn't like it and therefor had never played it. I looked at him, looked around the room and packed up my guitar and left.

I hate that F***ing song!!!!
