killerteddybear
I want to put together a beater Tele that I can ding without stressing out. I've noticed a preference for Allparts bodies over Warmoth in the builds on this board. Why is that?
cmatthes
I am not a fan of Warmoth bodies because the shape is just weird to me - it's different enough from the classic Fender body shape that it bugs the hell out of me, but I'm OCD about stuff like that. I SWEAR by Musikraft bodies, if you can track 'em down. If they aren't currently making them, try Steve Parker at Parklane Guitars - he was Musikraft's main neck/fret guy for well over a decade before recently hanging out his own shingle. I've gotten a neck from him that is spectacular, but he's done Tele bodies too.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame
here you go: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Luthier-Project-TELE-GUITAR-BODY-s-Vintage-Swamp-Ash-Light-Weight-Great-Projects/154285028191?hash=item23ec1ab35f:g:oCIAAOSwVURf-mad ...after thinking about it a little bit, these seem WAY too cheap to be Musikraft. But that's what it says is the manufacturer...maybe he just cloned it from someone else's Musikraft sale? Dunno. Do due diligence before you buy. Dutchman
This place has licensed fender bodies finished. https://stratosphereparts.com/bodies/

I’ve purchased stuff from that seller before, and he’s good to deal with, but keep in mind that the majority of what he sells is “project grade”, and requires some lutherie skills to get them up and running. These aren’t turnkey hobbyist projects.

Actually I think Fender.com has better prices. For $249 you can get a Fender MIM replacement body. https://shop.fender.com/en-US/parts/electric-guitar-parts/bodies/ That being said Stratosphere does have this Allparts double bound body for $229. https://stratosphereparts.com/new-fender-lic-vintage-62-ri-tele-body-double-bound-1962-style-alder-tbo-b/
