I have owned a set of Samson Rubicon R5a's studio monitors since 2006.  They have been amazing for the price.  But, today we had a storm and I powered them off once the power started to go out.  But I guess I was too slow.  One of them now just hisses and buzzes when turning on.

So, I am in the market for a new set.  Don't really want to spend more than $700 or so,  I could go higher but not sure if I want too.

Any recommendations?

Looking at Mackie, Yamaha, Krk rockit, Focal Shape. etc

I've had all you mention, and the ones I like the best are my current ones from Adam Audio. T7V

I have heard great things about Adam audio, and I really loved the Ribbon tweeters in my previous set.  Thanks

Bought the Adams A7V and they came in today. Breaking them in with a variety of music but so far they sound fantastic.  I know the Samson Rubicon was sorta modeled after the Adam's ribbon tweeter.  I love the sound of the ribbon tweeters and these sound great.  If my ears were better maybe I would buy the better Adam's but alas...

Will have to see how they balance with the Samson sub that is still working.

Thanks
