Ting Ho Dung
Interested in a Casino. Don't care much about how minty it is or color as long as it has a straight neck, truss rod works, and plays well. I can change electronics if there is an issue there. Thought I'd start here since this is a trustworthy bunch of dingos. If not a Casino then the other "H" word 530. Thanks, --Michael
hamerhead
How about an Epiphone Sheraton? It's the same shape and really well made.

I'm looking for a full hollow body with P-90s though. Shoot me a PM though, I'm looking for a present for Brandon's B-Day. Thanks.
JGravelin
FYI, the ones to look for are the Peerless MIK era models. I have experience with the Emperor Regent, Sheraton, and Casinos from "then" and those are great instruments. My ER is so fantastic that I've kept it above all other guits 20+ years later and it's still so damn good! YMMV but I hope you find a sweet one! Play them all first and look for the best, straightest neck. Bring a tool with you to adjust on the spot to your taste. Pickups/electronics can be dealt with later. Jakeboy
You want a Newport. The Phat Cats are p90ish and you can always slam in a set of HB sized 90s. But, a Newport is significantly more coin, tho.
hamerhead
Mine's a 2001 from the Samick factory, which is faaaaaar superior to the Peerless in every way possible. Actually, a buddy has a natural one from Peerless (the reason I bought mine) and they are really close. Mine being better, of course. ETA: Seriously, this is - by far - the best import guitar I've ever owned. I've been doing this for awhile now and guessed my buddy's at 3X the price, it was that good. Couldn't believe it. Unfortunately it's not a hollowbody. If you can find a Casino from Samick or Peerless, do it!

DaveL
Keep an eye out for the casino coupe. It’s a casino but in the footprint of an es-339. I’ve owned a couple. They were pretty cool.
pirateflynn
Have a look at a 2020-21 Casino Worn before you decide. I really like mine. It’s a very well made guitar. The build, frets, and electronics, all of it is good. Mine needed a proper setup, including lowering the nut, but afterward it dialed in just right. It works great for recording and is a really cool guitar to have around your couch for unplugged playing. It sounds killer plugged in too though might feedback with high volume and gain. A great value at $450 plus $65 for a setup.

ArnieZ
Not solid in the middle I believe only the 90 is solid in the middle, like a 335 Arniez

I've been looking online and they are saying that the center block only goes up to the bridge. So that's pretty cool.
