Hamer Special Help

Recommended Posts

I bought this in the mid 90’s and will be parting with it as my near total gear sell off.
it is exactly as I bought it. It has a neck joint repair that is not the prettiest, but has been stable for over 25 years.
I have no idea what to ask for this. I’m not asking for bids or best offer, but just ideas of a general range. 2BFF2E80-561C-43ED-9647-6244FA0F173A.jpeg2F8DDC28-07D8-4485-9697-186C1600A8FC.jpeg2F8DDC28-07D8-4485-9697-186C1600A8FC.jpeg90C2F50A-FC86-485E-92BE-76200BDBEF93.jpeg439F766F-A258-4B99-AB23-B4B5DB878C22.jpeg2BFF2E80-561C-43ED-9647-6244FA0F173A.jpegEE4492CC-2927-4565-A3EC-1E352ADF5B92.jpeg

Thank you. I’m going to post this on Reverb and FB Market Place. I bought it from a dealer and believe I paid $750 plus shipping  in 95. We talked a lot about this guitar here back then.

The dealer was in Idaho. The guitar was previously owned by D. Lippert

I have no idea of what the older Hamer's are worth.  I'd guess there are people on this forum that would give you $350 for the bridge alone.  If your listing it on Reverb ask at least double or more of what you paid for it.  You can always drop your price over time.  GLWTS

My 1980 Cboard Special had a slender neck but was a resonant rocker. I bet this one is too. I’d slap $1k on it on Reverb…you can always lower the price later. I bet it gets snapped right up.

$1,200 on Reverb, you will probably get offers above $1,000.   If it wasn’t for the neck repair and lack of serial, it would. E closer to $2k these days.

I spent a hour cleaning and restringing early am. I’m 100% certain this is an 81-82 model.
It is a nitro finish guitar and has what appears to be all original parts.
I am recalling our prior discussions regarding this guitar over 20 years ago here. The neck repair is stable for over 25 years. I specifically spoke to the dealer when I bought it regarding the serial number. He told me that it was brought in by D. Lippert who was the original owner.
There is a tiny paper tag inside the control panel with his name.
I believe the pots will confirm 81-82.
This is a very resonant guitar that rings acoustical . Everything works and the original hard shell case is included.
I would love to see this go to someone here who appreciates what it is.
I do not have the luxury of time due to my cancer.
$1200 shipped to lower 48.
