What are 80s Floyd Rose bridges selling for on average?

I have a couple fine tuner bridges and one non fine tuner in my parts drawer that were from Kramers that had seen much better days. Not sure if these are more desirable than the current ones or not and no clue what to ask for them.

Following (I have an original Schaller/Floyd [Hamer stamped] from an 86 Chaparral)...

I bought a couple of the '84 Schaller-made units for ~150 last summer (one w/locknut, claw. etc.; one without).  This model (FRT-5) was common on the Kramers and similar to the modern units, but they have a thicker baseplate and the old style threaded arm.

I often see these pop up in the 250 range, and so that might be a good entry point if listing on Ebay or Reverb. The earlier Fernandes and Kahler/APM-made units fetch more of a premium.

This site is a helpful reference for identifying which versions you have:

If yours are 83-84 Schaller-made units, I might be interested in one to replace one of my later model OFRs.

The prices have definitely gone up in the last year/13 months after EVH died.  The sheer volume of EVH guitar cloners out there is a bit staggering, and they've been driving up the prices on all of the "essential" components.  The level of detail some guys are going through is incredible, with some people only buying the exact year (hell, MONTH) for a part if they can source it.  Who knew that there were so many different variations of Ed's guitars?

There's a guy who has over 25 of them built, all representing different eras/combinations of his main 3-4 guitars from the 70s and mid 80s...

The OCD fanbois are wild. I've come across some Instagram accounts and the attention to detail some might say is impressive, others might say...silly. 😂

The units associated with EVH have been fetching stupid money.

Saw an incomplete FRT-4 get bid up to ~1800 a few months ago.  These were the first fine tuner bridges w/90 degree tail.  If I recall, it was missing a couple of its T-blocks - impossible to find predecessors to the modern style string clamp blocks.

Even the old Fernandes-made locking nuts with the "humpback saddles" are being listed in the 2-300 range these days.

I like Eddie, but not enough to go there!  Dayumn.

That’s a Fernandes-made Floyd nut - before Schaller took over manufacturing  in ‘83.

Fernandes had continued making their style Floyd lock nuts for use on Japanese-market guitars thru the late 80s.
