Anyone using the mag-loc with these bridges?

I've been tempted, but haven't pulled the trigger.

What about the steel block? You ever tried it? I hate to mess with a good thing with the unknownium  block, but I’ve thought about ordering one.

                                   I have been committed to this Philip Kubicki Stratocaster for some time now...................much different animal then the Les Paul "Type" guitar that is my main guitar but every bit as good. I love Fender Strats and have always had one through the years. RRyJb0c.jpgyqOTfIy.jpg

I went by my local shop and tried all the Strats again. My friend Danny said, he absolutely loves the Professional II and he has not changed a thing. The guys has an original 60's Strat and 30 to 40 Strats total. They unfortunately didn't have any in stock so I drove over to GC and played the one they had with a Rosewood board. I did see a one with a Maple Board in Mystic Seaform Pearl that looks amazing. Sadly all the Fenders they had, suffered horrible in the winter months. They all they the fret ends stickup out a serious mile.

I did like the guitar, so I drove back to my local shop and asked what they had in order, but nothing with a Rosewood Board. So I told them what color I was looking at and they punched it in and without me committing to anything they ordered the guitar. "Hey that looks cool and if you don't want it, someone will buy it. ", "Make sure we have your number and we will call you when it comes in.".

So Mid March it should arrive.

I got my 1st strat for xmas in 6th grade, the story is pretty good; my grandma was volunteering at a goodwill type store for charity; the strat and a NMV twin reverb were donated, but they never hit the floor; grandma wrote a check to the store and stuck them in her car!  76 sunburst 3 bolt hardtail, I used it in the 7th & 8th grade talent shows (I peaked in jr high), traded it for a SG in 9th grade;

That is the correct model, but I won't buy anything right now form GC. Everything they have in my local shop are so dried out that you can saw wood with the side of the fretboards. I have this model in a difference color on order from my local shop. Due in Mid March.

  I checked the Fender web site but didn't find much info on the Am Pro II neck profile. Deeper web searches led me to The Music Gallery which claims the 'Deep C' neck profile has a 9.5" radius with rolled edges that measure in at .850 @ 1st fret and .920 @ the 12th but will vary slightly from guitar to guitar (hand carve ? CNC would be consistent, no ?) Also has a bone nut that measures 1.685". They also claim that even with the Narrow Tall Frets, the action can still be set pretty low. Along with a satin neck finish, these really sound interesting.

Hi ho, hi ho, my Refund check might go. Not to this or that, but a Fender Strat, hi ho, hi ho !

You gotta just play one, the frets are tall and narrow and feel great. I have been playing vintage style frets so long now that the jumbos just don't do it for me. The narrow frets feel like they aren't there, tall enough that playing is easy. The fretboard edges are rolled, the neck has low action and plays great. The pickups are fantastic and all 5 positions sound great. Now that I have tried a but load of Strats in a short period of time, that is a not true for most sets.

The guitar is a fantastic mix of old school and new school without loosing the feel and vibe.

I've been thinking about this a couple weeks now. Maybe look for a nice used one. I like the fact that it's a wider neck.  If it don't work out, I can always flip it.

@tweedthey can be had in the used market. IMHO the best part is that they don't loose that vintage strat thing, all the "upgrades" are just little additions that make it more enjoyable to play. There is one local to me, for $1300, but I've already committed to my local shop.
