Feynman
Anyone have an answer with any certainty? I can't tell. I'm also pretty colorblind. Grain patterns confuse me. This particular model guitar is spec'ed as rosewood. Internet rumors say some during this year were ebony. Some seem to be dark/oiled rosewood. I dunno. What do you think? crunchee
I'd say rosewood, since it's got prominent grain pores and a hint of red in the grain 'streaks'. My old '80's Ovation Balladeers have small color 'streaks' in the ebony fretboard and very few open grain pores, and the 'streaks' tend to be more brown-ish/tan-ish in color, with no red. tbonesullivan
Looks like dyed / colored rosewood to me. The large grain pores definitely make me think rosewood.

Steve Haynie
In an age when you can identify as what you want to be, your guitar can identify as having an ebony fretboard if that is pleasing to you.
Jakeboy
Definitely rosewood and beautiful rosewood at that. I d a FSR 2007 Telecaster that had rosewood like that. So pretty with subtle red in the black. Yours looks fabulous!

DaveL
I like a nice dark rosewood. I like the tone and also, in my area the weather is nuts and I think rosewood a little less prone to cracking. I am not crazy about dyed rosewood but I think that slot of rosewood might already be dyed to some extent.
Drew816
Cool. I had a '64 6120DC that I didn't have for long, that neck joint drives me bananas. But WOOOOOHHH the sound, evil... Enjoy!
Feynman
Yeah...I really like the newer Smoke model 6120, but the upper fret access is pretty limited compared to one like this Panther. Not that I play anything above fret five anyway.
HamerCustomEr
I love ebony, and I play it every day. Your fretboard looks like beautiful rosewood to me.
