Does this look like a broken neck repair with an overspray?

Disturber

Question

I have never seen a Les Paul sprayed this way? It' a burst with plain laquer neck and body back and sides. But the neck joint and the sides of the body around the neck joint are sprayed black. Is this something you've seen before? Could it be an overspray due to a neck joint repair?

Beautiful top, though.

I can't think of why the neck joint would be painted that way if not to cover a repair.  Same as when you see it on the back of a headstock around the nut.

Come on....

Yeah, you are probably right. Would need a black light to find out. I would prefer if it's repaired. Then I'd throw in a low bid for it. I like the top and it would be a good player if the repair is solid.

There are far too many unbroken Les Pauls for sale to be wasting your time positioning yourself in negotiations for a repaired one.
Move on to one of the other half a million Les Pauls on Reverb.

Wise. Thanks.

Pretty standard, the burst depending on the year and model will wrap around the neck joints. Sometimes the backs are dark, sometimes not, sometimes The necks and back are dark. I’m guessing it depends on the wood, who is painting that day.
