Back From Ruination... NOGD

Recommended Posts

This was the guitar that never seemed to be fully completed! Pretty much a never ending, intermittent fixer upper, ever since its initial build and debut in 2015? Chris Leahy at Addict Guitars custom built this to my specs, using a maple neck-through with alder “wings” and a quilted maple top. The maple fingerboard featured 24 jumbo frets and personalized “bouncing” dot inlays ala Kramer Nightswan.

It only saw the stage with Splitstream on one occasion before it was retired due to some issues with frets, finish and the tremolo set up.

It languished for years until it was sent on to Shane Huss @ HEL Guitars for jumbo stainless frets and a few other tweaks. From there it went out to Pat Wilkins in California for a new paint job. Upon returning, the guitar bounced back-and-forth between Mike Schramm at Schramm Stringed Instrument Repair and Shane. With one last minor modification of the recessed cavity under the tremolo system, the guitar finally completed its journey, returning to me in a highly playable condition!

Nice!!!  Looks and sounds killer. Some questions:

1) what are the pickups?

2) what are the mini toggles?

3) who’s in the bikini behind your right arm?

1) Gravelin Mongoose in the bridge and a Fernandes Sustainer in the neck.

2)  On/off and setting controls for Fernandes

3)  Josaphine Skriver-  SI swimsuit calendar :P

Love me a Mongoose. Got two of them. Fantastic pickup. In fact, a couple of your clips sold me on them so when Josh suggested it I immediately said yes.

aaaaaaannndddd….  Found it.
