I don't know if there are any Hanoi Rocks fans here. But I thought this was cool to share. Original line up will do a gig at Michaels 60th bash in Helsinki.

Great band from when the 80ies were still really exciting!

I LOVE their live album „All Those Wasted Years“ from 1983 live at the Marquee, still with Razzle on drums.

Had it on heavy rotation for years.

From „Pipeline“ (best version this side of Johnny Thunders) through to „Train Kept A-Rolling“ each song was powerful, highly melodic and snotty enuff.

Classy picture, too: Look at the walking stick under the cape of this honorably well aged Gentleman Andy McCoy.

Side note: Little Steven has produced a couple of MM's latest solo albums!

Thanks for the heads up and I hope, you lucky Scandinavians all take advantage of that gig!

Yes That double live album and video is great.   loved em back in the day. I still follow Micheal Monroe….  His recent album (the one with last train to Tokyo) was surprisingly good.  They (Hanoi) were supposed to do another album with Bob Ezrin but i think the death of Razzle really took the wind out of their sails and it never happened.  The “Dirt” movie makes it look like driver inattentiveness and not being completely hammered.  Kind of insulting imho.

Btw: if you like Hanoi,  check out D-Generation who did a couple of slabs on a major in the late 90’s.    Second album “No Lunch” was produced by Ric Ocasek right around the time he did the Weezer blue album.  One of my favorite slabs.

Walking sticks and capes: two highly underrated men's accessories.

Dr. John invented these. Together with tiny shrinkhead-skulls.

The image of this band was so great!  I discovered them late in their career from the Up Around the Bend video.  I rushed right out and got Two Steps from the Move, which I still love to this day.  Years later I streamed all of the earlier stuff but I found the rest I found to be pretty generic and not at the same level as Two Steps.  Glad they're going to do it again though!

Here is an example of a band that purchased the Hanoi Rocks Starter kit that was available at Hot Topic.

As you can see they don’t get the Hanoi look exactly right and probably never went anywhere.     ;)

Apparently the gig was a success. Wish I'd been there. Some cool shots from the evening:

Ok…so I  have of course heard of Hanoi Rocks but have never listened to them until today. I spun the recommended live album All These Wasted Years. OMG what a kick ass band right up my 70s blues-rock alley. Love the guitar tones and solos and raw visceral riffing. Perfect RNR. Thanks for this thread!

Welcome to the club.

Imagine, how this stuff would have impacted the nerves of a 20-year-old-self 😉
