currypowder Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 I read on facebook today that Kurt Liptak, one of our HFC brothers, passed away this morning after a brief and intense battle with lung cancer. I cannot for the life of me remember his handle here (it might be kurtl, but I'm not 100% on that). I had the great pleasure to meet Kurt one year when my friends and I were attending SXSW several years ago. We met for lunch and then hit a couple of guitar stores. He was a great and friendly host to me and my friends and I enjoyed our brief time together. RIP Kurt.
cynic Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Very sorry to hear that. @Kurt L facilitated the purchase of my first Tally when it popped up for sale in the Austin area where he worked. If memory serves he worked for a TV affiliate there. Always very kind and pleasant in our interactions both on and off the board. He was a Dead Head but we should try to remember him fondly anyway.
