The bass has been modded. Original owner refinished the body. I had the fret markers re-done for my Judas Priest tribute. I also put Seymour Duncan SRB-1B in the bridge and SB-3 in the neck. It also has a Drop D tuner. $1000. Sorry for the crappy pics. I can send better pics upon request.

Back up for sale with better pics. There are finish checks on the neck. I had 2 different luthiers look at it, and both said they are just in the lacquer and that it is structurally sound.

The neck/back of the headstock have also been refinished - not just the body.  The original serial # stamp is gone and something else - assuming the correct number - was redone, hence the odd font.

The guy I bought it from said that he was the original owner and the only thing that he had refinished was the body. He could have been lying about it, but why would he?

He was totally lying.

That makes no sense. But good. I was thinking about sanding the crap lacquer off off the back of the neck. I never cared for finish checking on instruments.

Those aren’t original Hamer serial numbers.  The font and spacing is wrong, and they were likely redone afterwards by whoever did the clear refin.  The legit ones were inked over the original finish during that era.
