What's the going rate on this era Special these days?  I've been considering one. This seems a little high to me, but the last couple of years have skewed my reasonableness test.

To be honest, I'm surprised it hasn't already sold.  That one appears to be in great shape, so under a grand seems like a deal to me.

Yeah, anything under a grand for a USA Hamer is a steal. Gone are the days of $350….  Shit… I bought and sold a ton of USA Hamers for $500. 

I’m stuck in early 2000’s pricing. But I know deep down that $1k is the new starting point.

Thanks for the perspective, everyone.  With the seller's $150 shipping charge and the minimum bid, the starting price was $1150, and that puts it within ~ $100 of what I paid for my studio this year. I figured the special would be at least a couple hundred less than a Studio, but I haven't been watching these guitars closely. The Reverb price guide for this model is pretty messed up and doesn't provide any real data, and eBay didn't show any sold listings prior to this sale.  I was expecting $800-900 all in; it sounds like I should reset my expectations if I want to get one.  I appreciate the feedback.

Frequently the same guitar will appear on eBay and reverb, you can toss them an offer, in this case for 800 like you said, and what frequently happens is they either take it or they counter, I do this all the time and often the counter is a lot lower than their listing price..

Thanks. I was just trying to figure out what this model had been realistically selling for and there wasn't any real data I could find.  Now I have one data point - $1150 shipped.
