sw686blue Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 SOLD!!! Hey folks, I'm selling my 2002 Mahogany Artist in Silver Sparkle. The guitar is in "like new" condition. No dings, dents, chips, belt-buckle rash, etc... However, last year I decided that I wanted to install pearloid crown inlays. So, I ordered a set of inlays and glued them on the fretboard with white glue to hold them in place while I outlined the shape of the inlay using an exacto knife. After getting busy on other stuff, that project got sidetracked. I removed the inlays and frets 3, 5, 7 and 9 have some very faint score lines. I've taken some photos in macro mode below to show you what they look like. The score lines are very exxagerated in the photos due to them being photographed in macro mode. In fact, I don't thnk that anyone would actually notice them had I not divulged it. In any case, the score lines do not affect playability in any way. The guitar is completely original and comes with stock SD '59s in the neck and bridge. Neck is medium. Comes with a SKB hardshell case which is in very good condition. Oh yeah, 6.5 lbs! Looking for $725 + shipping + paypal fees. Thanks. Nick
Bloozguy Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Hey Nick...How much for that dandy pink Bratz blanket? All kidding aside that's a great guitar at a great price and for those that don't know already, Nick is A+ to deal with.

Regarding the blanket, you'll have to take that up with my daughter. Good luck with that!

bubs_42 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Damn, I love the Silver Sparkle Artists and buckers to boot! Good Luck.
Teh Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 A little 0000 steel wool and fretboard oil would makes those scorelines virtually invisible. Added benefit would be shiny frets and gunk-free, reconditioned fretboard!
Thundernotes Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I believe they call that the Vanguard model. I had one, and they're great guitars! Nice price too.

Added benefit would be shiny frets and gunk-free, reconditioned fretboard! Ah, how great minds think alike! That's exactly what I did. The photos above are the "before" shots. I should get some "after" pix up. Like I said, you really have to angle the neck in the right light to see the score lines.
francospence Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 If I didnt have 2 Artists i'd have you send that one over too Nick, What a great price for a mint Artist! Anyone who's considering it, Nick is fantastic to deal with!Good luck with the sale.
gahboo Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Man, this pisses me off! I own a P90 Vanguard, and I have been looking for a Humbucker loaded Vanguard to match it for YEARS - literally three of them. The Humbucker ones are pretty scarce, apparently. I saw exactly one on craigslist two years ago in Chicago and the dude would not ship it to me. So, then I started looking for a Vanguard P90 guitar to route out and make my own. It needed to be in really good condition, like my other one. No luck. So, then I get a gig where I really NEED a bucker equipped guitar, and jack with Kinman P90 Hx's because I do not want to leave my beloved Vanguard. They are good, but not as good as my old pickups, so I am growing more distressed. I finally break down and buy a (really nice) PRS Swamp Ash Special three days ago (at a really good price). Then I find this thread today. This blows... If this guitar is anything like my Vanguard it is outstanding. I woulda paid $1250 for it.Guess this is how it goes.Good luck.
geoff_hartwell Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I have a 99 silver Vanguard that I LOVE. This is a great guitar at a great price - Somebody snag it! GH

My first Hamer and an awesome guitar. -Austin I bought this one after seeing yours at the last HFC, Austin! I've had this one for a long time now and it's a great guitar. I am not a big '59 fan, but these pickups sound killer in this guitar and they cover a lot of ground. I won't be sad if it doesn't sell.
Thundernotes Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Mine had Fralin unbuckers - sang like a bird
Bloozguy Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I sure wish I wasn't "over-guitar'd" and "under-money'd" right now...that would make a great companion to my silver sparkle Vanguard, Studio and DuoTone

Now, that's, cool!! Bump for a killin' guitar... but if there's a silver sparkle Duotone out there... Was it Stike who did it? is it a 3-Hole or a Custom... AAARRGH!

Hamer's silver is more "metallic" than the sparkly beauties done by Stike.
sw686blue Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 Bump!Couple of folks interested but I need to move this...Thanks for looking!
