Effect Pedal Question

I'm kind of new to pedals, I've always been a plug and play kind of guy, but is there any reason why you couldn't use bass effects for guitar, or vise versa?

You can mix and match them. However, most bass effects are voiced too low for guitar and they don't sound very good. It all has to do with the EQ.

Cool, that's what I was hoping to hear. Like I said I'm pretty new to pedals and I have some playing to do. It'll be fun!!

Bass wah pedals are meant to work with the lower tones, but a regular wah pedal works just fine. Dennis Dunaway used a wah on Alice Cooper's Unfinished Sweet, and at the time there was no one tailoring wah pedals for bass. It worked out fine. Geezer Butler used a wah on N.I.B. It was likely unmodified, too.

Use your ears. If the pedal sounds good use it.
