FS:Hamer Eclipse USA

I have Firebird Ants in mine. It's a total tone machine. Does not get simpler than that. Eclipse, cable and old Fender Super Champ = vintage tone heaven.

Yeah. I was just playing it straight into my '65 Ampeg Reverberocket. I could do a gig with this amp without an OD!

Thankfully it's black. Im probably in the minority here, just not a fan of black guitars. Otherwise, great guitar

That's what saved my wallet on this one.
Amen. Don't get me wrong I love the Eclipse and especially this one with the Duncan Antiquity pups. But I gotta see woodgrain. It doesn't need to be flamey, or birdseye, or anything exotic. I just like seeing the grain of Mahogany or Spruce or Ash or Maple....show me the wood! Slider313, refin? /emoticons/default_wink.png

Cheers!

Well, I could try a couple of bottles of paint stripper and see what we have under that black. ;-0

The Eclipse was always split between stained mahogany & solid colors. I had 6- and 12-stringers both in (transparent) vintage orange (VO), and they also made'em in cherry mahogany. But they also had solid metallic blue/green and (IIRC) black. I loved the look of my VO Eclipses, but compared to those clangy, edgy stock Duncans, I'd take the Antiquities over color. Besides, black goes with anything.

You don't have to go around sportin' wood all the time. Show some restraint once in awhile. /emoticons/default_laugh.png

I like all black, I used to think that it would show every little nick and ding, and that's not necessarily true, especially with a glossy finish...glare and shine from the finish tends to camouflage any oopses on black, IMO. I like the rosewood fretboard on this Eclipse too, it's dark enough to compliment the black finish. You definitely can't say that about ALL rosewood fretboards, especially nowadays!
