Hamer Scepter V

Well, hopefuly someone misses this masterpiece! Scepter V is my favourite guitar, I even thought about having similiar guitar custom made for me (before I even knew there actually was Scepter V), but then I found this interesting guitar and I thought: why did they stop making this beauty? I know they stoped making metal axes because the competition was too tough (can't see any reason though, competition is even harder among jazz/blues/rock guitars), but surely they could make a new version of it, 20 years anniversary version or something? They started to make Scarab too!

Talking about custom guitars, how much would, lets say, Scepter V cost if I would have one custom made for me by Hamer? Of course you don't know exact prices, but something that gives me some sort of idea... thanks

 
A few years back NuclearWessel brought his pepto pink Scepter V to the Midwest Jam. What a spectacular specimen:

Now there's a cool idea!! Though like the Scarab, it would likely be brought back as an import.

An updated USA version, with a TOM bridge, different fretboard inlays and a less 80's glam metal look would be cool. Some of Yamaha's AES series guitars have a 2 tone color scheme that looks rock n' roll, but not 80's hair metal dated. It would be cool to see Hamer pull off something like that. I notice Jackson has updated the look of a bunch of their models to change with the times.

I've got Duncan Full Shreds in both positions now. There's something about the particular piece of wood Hamer used on this guitar too. The crunch is just amazing!

 
I have been screaming for farking ever about one of these! When I refill the guitar coffers one may be next on my list. Providing somebody decides to sell.... /emoticons/default_laugh.png

 
What a hell is TOM bridge /emoticons/default_laugh.png How about black Scepter V with block inlays, Kahler 2300 tremolo unit and a couple of S Duncans, DiMarzio X2Ns, EMG81s or even Bare Knuckle Miracle Man/Nailbomb pickups!

I wouldn't actually care if it was import or not.. yeah, imports are cheap and quality is not propably the best.... but I don't know, during these couple of years, I've learned to appreciate even cheap guitars... Didn't Vivian Campbell use some cheap japanese axes in his early career? And what a guitarist!

Scepter V's only flaw is that the body is so, mmh... angular. Its not bad, but looks bit oldish /emoticons/default_biggrin.png But I still like it. K.K. Mini V is my other favourite guitar, its actually incredible guitar! Its so small that you can play it when you sit, unlike those normal V guitars where you need to have own position. Hah, its ecspesialy beautiful with those studds K.K. put into it /emoticons/default_biggrin.png

Ah, of course... Well, I would never put Tune-o-matic bridge to Scepter V! Kahler or no bridge at all /emoticons/default_ohmy.png

 
what was that smaller bodied vector that kk played in the late 80's?

He used to play K.K. Mini V, Scepter V with shortened body. Its handy little guitar really, and sounds wicked. It had only one Seymour Duncan pickup if I remember it right and K.K. even put some studs to it, hah.

Was it in this forum where I read that somebody sold one of those K.K. mini Vs (story goes that one roadie got one K.K. mini V from K.K. and he sold that guitar in eBay) for 500 dollars. /emoticons/default_laugh.png if money was what he wanted, he could have got far far more, I would have paid ~2000 dollars if it would be in good condition and real deal

I have passed over a few too many scepter V's over the past few yrs...

I will eventually spring for the right one...

would love a pink one, or white with black... silver w/red. bla bla bla....

but I highly doubt you will ever see a usa made reissue of any '80s shred machines given hamers current direction and mindset....

I would have to believe a firebird would happen before a scepter, and I have it from the man personally, birds aint every gonnna happen... /emoticons/default_laugh.png

chaps and tle's would be nice too.... dont count on it...

however I'd be up for ordering one of each with a sustain block...

That's a true shame, because the metal market looks like it's growing and shredding is back to stay for another looong while.
