The itinerary:

Friday night, early arrivals are invited to gather at the cafe to check out a show featuring local acoustic acts Seventy Two Others and Stellar Road. Afterward we head down the street to Kilroy's, a local pub, for suds and socializing.

Saturday we convene at the cafe around 10 a.m. for a caffeine fix before heading into Chicago to check out a music store or two; Make'n Music for sure, and maybe Midwest Buy and Sell on the west side. I don't think we'll be going to Flynn Brothers (too far) or Chicago Music Exchange (chaotic Cubs traffic in the area). I think the plan this year is to cut the crawl a bit shoter and get back to the cafe around 5 p.m. so we can have more time to enjoy dinner and most importantly to sample all the cool guitars, amps and effects in the house before we kick off the jam. All this plus the requisite assortment of adult beverages for a requested donation of $25 per adult. After the jam (maybe 11 or so) the house drummer has invited us to a nearby bar where his cover band is playing; he says anyone who's interested can sit in with them.

The cafe's set up for Wi-Fi so anyone with a wireless laptop can log on to the Internet and post to the board (or surf some porn sites) while the jam is happening. We'll also be recording the festivities and CDs will be burned for anyone who wants one.

E-mail me with any questions or if you want to exchange cell phone numbers. The weather's gonna be nice, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great time.

If anyone is bringing their digital camera, bring your software, if possible. I'll load it up on the laptop and we can get the pictures to Photobucket right away.

Too bad we can't find a site to host a webcam of the evening. LOL

Great idea! I finally got a digital cam. I'll try to make sure I remember to bring it and a couple of spare batteries.

Does your laptop have a USB port? I've got a cable and you can just download the pics directly from the camera via USB.

Yo Chris!

What's a respectable time to wander in on Friday Evening?

Oh, and do you have wired (RJ-45, ethernet stuff) internet?

I'll be there by 7, the show starts at 8 and goes until about 10:30, so anytime in between is good. Badger and SirDan have a knack for rolling in precisely when the last note of the evening is being played.

RJ-45, ethernet ... I have no idea what either of those are. Hell, I didn't know what Wi-Fi was until about a week ago. All I know is there's a cable internet connection in the basement office and the upstairs is all wireless.

BTW, don't bother bringing that cabinet unless you think someone else might be interested. I had to pop for a new espresso machine a couple weeks ago. Everytime I look at it I see the custom Hamer (or 2) I could have ordereed for the same amount of $$$. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr ...

OK, qustions answered!

The cabinet Chris referred to is a Laney 4 x 10, extra cherry, 4 x 10 50 watt HH speakers, on casters. It's a half-back design (half open, bottom pair in their own subenclosure). Used one weekend, that's it. A firm offer will get me to go get it out of the warehouse.

Most Esteemed redhead/percussionist is bringing a djembe carved out of a big ol' mahogany log. As close to a wooden cannon as you'll find.

When's Chris going to be able to convince some of his more prominent Playboy co-workers to show up with their.... ummmm... shakers?!?!?!?!?!

Probably the same day I decide to play softly for a change ...
