I thought of this immediately when saw the post stating the tour was not happening this year; but put off posting this til now....

I don't know about anyone else, but the tour is cool but the part I really look forward to is before the tour in Kim's office, Holly-Ann's famous cookies, lunchtime talking with everyone and hoping *&%$#@ FUNG doesn't move my seat, Dinner, THE JAM and the hotel after-party and Saturday breakfast (and a few other things I won't mention in the interest of keeping the peace.

How do you guys and girls feel about getting together either in Winsor Locks (as usual) or somewhere else for a get-together without the tour part??? I look forward to seeing you idjits as much as anyone I know....(Well most of you anyway!) any thoughts?

 
That would be cool-great idea. Maybe we could just loiter in the parking lot, look pathetic, take oaths of secrecy and get 'em to let us in too! /emoticons/default_biggrin.png

The jam would be fun.

 
Hey BillyBob: I'll hop a plane out to CT to join in on the festivities as long as you put on a dress and wig and let me spank your bare ass........ AND I don't have to share a room with Cary, we all know why "Cary needs a room to himself".

P.S. Billybob please clarify your signature line: The "snake" you are referring to is your snakeskin 12 string..... There are many great lengths I'll go to to uncover a cool Hamer, but touching your snake is definitely not one of them........Loves ya!!!!!

You wanna rent the Kof C hall? If we get enough people interested, I'll find out how mucho, and take a Paypal collection. We'd need to figure out a PA and back line etc, but I think there are enough locals (or somewhat locals) to put together a 1/2 decent setup.

That sounds like a great idea Bill. Laura and I would definitely be interested in something like that. Maybe if we get enough people together we could get Jol to come in and do his road show. And it would be WAY cool if Jol and Frank U. joined us for the jam.

I can't believe so few people responded positively to this thread. Can it be that some of our bretheren would only go if there was a chance to win a guitar?

Actually I have a custom order that was supposed to be ready for the Open house so I will be up that way anyhow to pick it up. I agree the tour is one thing but the get together the Jam Dinner at Sophia's that is what made it cool.

 
I'd really love to, but I'd likely hold out for an HFC next year. Plane fare ain't my favorite thing to spend money on. This will also give me the chance to head to Arlington in October and not crowd the schedule up too much.

 
I'd be down with just getting together and doing everything else just like we always do, except the tour, which frankly has gotten REAL old, and boring.

Sure it's nice to be there, but there's nothing new going on.

I'd rather be spending the vacation time off of work having a blast with my friends, and not on any stinking early ass schedule. ya know?
