Output Jack Replacement

You need a heavy duty Soldering iron/gun and a solder sucker or wick...  Get the soldering iron superhot, tin the tip with solder "makes it hotter" before placing on solder joint

I'd snip the jack leg with some heavy duty wire cutters. No heat needed.

If the severed tab is in the way when you replace the jack, bend it up towards the control plate. Or better yet, solder the new jack's ground leg to it. 

 
Get a quality Weller with adjustable heat. They're not too expensive. I use a 70 watt model that runs as hot as 850F. For stuff like that I'll run it at 700F and at that temp it will melt the solder on that jack way before it heats the pot up. Using a 700F soldering gun is way better for your stuff than a cheapo that runs at 3-400 F because you don't have to sit there waiting for everything to get hot enough to melt solder. The 70watt iron knocks the job out real fast and without harm.

 
thanks for the reponses! I own a decent solderng station,one that Murkat recommended. I am just ignorant about how much heat i needed. will the repalcement jack need to be grounded to the pot the same way?

Turn it up!.. & It will need to be grounded but not necessarily the same way….

But I recommend grounding this way as it keeps the Jack from wiggling as it's anchored securely
