I'm looking at a used PRS SAS and am curious about it's value. Teal in color. Flamey neck. Moons. Case has wear and tear. The guitar has been gigged. Some significant dings on the body (one large one on an edge missing finish at least the size of a dime), some small gashes on the side of the neck that won't feel uncomfortable (including two gouges on the treble side at frets 11 and 12), finish on the back of the neck steel wooled, new style tuners installed and winged ones gone, frets aren't as tall as they once were but were crowned and work well, edges of the fingerboard show wear from use.

Ballpark?

Serial:

I've seen clean ones in that range.

Here are some photos showing the wear and damage done when a sound guy knocked the guitar off a stand.

Eww.

I'll drop the top number after looking at the pics, but still think that one would fetch $1k+, especially on eBay. Hell, parted out it would bring closer to $1,500, even in that condition.

And who you callin' "Serial"?!??!?! /emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif

Hey, I was tired...... sorry.

Did he knock it off the stand once or daily?

Lemme guess: He knocked it off the stand once - down a flight of stairs.

LOL....

The guitar is owned by a friend. It got knocked off once several years ago. It's been played a lot since then.

Dave, you may be thinking about the PRS that BCR Greg sold for $800.00 and reasoning, "If that was worth $800, this one can't be worth more than $600."

That was my first thought, too. Truth is, Greg sold that CE for $400.00 less than it was worth. Even with the dings, your buddy could sell that SAS on ebay for $800.00 in a heartbeat. If I walked into a Guitar Center and saw that guitar with an $800.00 tag on it, I'd have it rung up and in the car within two minutes. Assuming the case was included, of course. /emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif
