The Monaco Appreciation Thread

Here is a shot of 3 of the 4 monacos I have had. The one on the right is the only one left. I had a stop tail version of the same red Monaco as well until I got the pictured Bigsby version which is my preference. The MIII was a NAMM guitar that I bought and sold stupid cheap, but I could not get along with the chicken head 5 way switch. The Duncan P90's were too hot as well, just like the ones in my Korina Artist.image.jpg

Ive put the p90s back in since this pic.

THERE it is! I've looked everywhere for photos of this, mostly in the FS section (couldn't find it). I really really really regret not buying this when it was for sale. Thanks for posting. At least I can look at it again! /emoticons/default_smile.png

Interesting post. I had a similar experience with the MIII that I had, as well as my Artist Korina. The Artist now has Wolfetone P90s and it sounds great. I sold the MIII, but some day I'll get another and swap out the pups.

My Monaco Elite would be tough to beat by any LP style guitar. Total keeper.

...so I'll probably be looking for a regular Monaco one of these days. The Bigsby and long scale length of that model intrigues me. Are there a decent # of those tobacco burst models out there? I tend to only see them in red.

I feel like I see them pretty regularly.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a true tobacco Burst Monaco, the Burst's you see are jazzburst. I posted a WTB ad for a burst Monaco and found one fairly quickly. Just a great great guitar

monaco bass , monaco elite 59 burst ( semi hollow with F hole ) , monaco elite tobacco burst w/ crossroads/godwood pickups

To be clear, never seen a Monaco Monaco in any burst but jazzburst. Seen many elites and superpro, love to see a non jazzburst straight Monaco

Mine has 59s in both positions and a Gibson ABR1 bridge installed by previous owners. I really like the pickups and am keeping them in
