TSO Build

Do those dot inlays light up? No, they’re CZ - the top, flat surface is flush with the fingerboard, so you don’t really notice them while playing. Dustin said his nickname  is DDB ( Diamond Dustin Brayley), so when we were working up specs these seemed to fit

Did he have to get permission to do that logo inlay? Dustin took care of it

Absolutely spectacular. Thanks!

I went the TSO show in Sioux Falls a couple of weeks ago. Great show! At the end of the show a little girl walked out followed by one of the guitar players carrying a dark colored guitar. He placed it in the girls hands which she held over her head. Now me being cheap I had nosebleed seats and couldn't tell what kind of guitar 'it was. The whole incident was kinda weird but my thoughts were that maybe this was the guitar. Any chance?
Dustin is on the east coast tour, I think you saw the west coast group.

Congrats to Team Shishkov and to HHB for the assist with the connection so Mike could build the guitar for Dustin.  I

"Thanks for helping to make this happen Bill- as a small builder, it’s not always easy to make the meaningful connections, and the grassroots support is appreciated more than you guys can know." - Mike Shishkov!

People make it happen!   What a great testament to not only Mike and Team Shishkov, but the Shishkov community as a whole.

Very excited for Mike and can't wait to see his next build!

Best wishes,

Hamerica

Oh damn! That color is KILLER! Too bad the stage lights almost never bring out the best in any guitar's finish.  But DANG, that's one hell of an endorsement.

The Shishkov was on stage a lot last night.  Getting a good photo was impossible because Dustin is rarely playing along the front of the stage.  He mostly stays on a platform while Chris Caffery and Joel Hoekstra take the spotlight.  The only time Dustin gets a spotlight is when he is singing, and he does not sing while playing guitar.  For all the great lights in the show, the performers are not often in enough light for taking photos unless they are featured at the moment.

After the second show all the performers sign autographs.  Last year I got a tour book signed by everyone.  This year there was only one new person, and I was not spending another $20 to get another tour book signed.  A friend who loves TSO gave me some of her extra photos which I got signed by some of the members of the group.  They just zip everyone through quickly, and conversation is extremely brief.

When I got to Dustin I said, "So, blue guitars sound better."  He immediately went off on how there is this guy building incredible guitars like he had discovered the greatest guitar builder of all time, but he was not looking at me while he was talking.  I told him to look at my shirt.  I had on a Shishkov shirt.  He just went, "Oh, ****!" and laughed.

When I got to singer Robin Borneman he was asking about Shishkov guitars because of my shirt.  I had to tell him to talk to Dustin.

Very cool @Steve Haynie -   Thanks for representing at the show - fun story!   I tried to get some decent shots when Dustin was moving around on the front part of the stage when I saw them here in Hartford , but they didn’t turn out because of the lasers/lighting and other special effects.

The guitar does look splendid on stage!  Awesome job Mike!

That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?? This is really fucking cool, Mike. So happy for you. What a thrill.

The single cut really suits the darker colour. Great shot of it in all it’s glory too.
