What was your first Hamer?

96 Special FM I got in 01. Most unheralded tone monster of the Hamer lineage.

78 Sunburst, bought in February 1978 at the tender age of 14. I passed on a Goldtop Les Paul that was CHEAPER, because I had seen Tull the night before.

It was stolen in 1992, and I'm still looking for it........

Vanguard HB:

An absolutely sweet guitar, but my Special sounded "better" in a close enough way to make it redundant. So, away it went. Still, Mahogany Artist HB's are inexpensive enough that I won't be surprised if I end up with another one someday.

1994 Daytona, Dunlop 6100 frets, Natural Ash finish

My first "real" guitar, still my #1

Changed the pickups to DiMarzio Fast Track2 in the bridge,DiMarzio HS3 in the neck about 9 years ago.

Kick. Farking. Ass. /emoticons/default_blink.png

Mine was a snake skin Cali standard.82 or.84 vintage I believe? And came by it as a fluke in a trade deal...I have not looked back and it's the only guitar I will own and use....cept of course for my yearly Les Paul itch I have to scratch from time to time... /emoticons/default_blink.png

A Black Blitz with a Floyd and hockey stick head. Bought it used in '87 maybe?

David B, I love your bands fan page on the web. You're having too much fun! /emoticons/default_blink.png

Import Rick Nielsen Signature, which I promptly put in Pearly Gates/CustomCustom and it still kicks ass.

1st USA was/is a Vanguard P-90 from Jack C - sweet!

Mine and unfortunately up to now the only one (besides some Paulas and other brands) is a Hamer Chapparal Bolt On with Original FR, SD pickups and an untreated maple neck bought at Sam Ash in 1988. It´s a pointy one but the best Superstrat I´ve ever played. /emoticons/default_blink.png

Early 90's Diablo. A friend of a friend apparently would use his parents credit cards to buy guitars. Then, he'd pawn them. When the ticket came due, he'd attempt to find buyers to give him the money to get them out of pawn. I never understood this behaviour, LOL. It was before the days of an ATM on every corner. That said, I got the Diablo and a nice LP Standard for extremely cheap.

A used early 80's carve top Sunburst w/factory Floyd. First owner was Pete Petty who ran AL&M in Raleigh and later Norfolk. Stolen from my house in 1988, still want it back.
