Which One??

The Shishkov, no question. Since I'd have an extra hand though, I'd be torn as to what else to grab...right now it would have to be the Checkerboard 4-digit Standard.
Dude, really?

Between your and your brother's stashes, it would simply have to come down to whatever was closest at the time (and may that time never come).

Any amount of time taken for even the least bit of consideration would surely be fatal.

Not that I'd grab a guitar if the house were on fire, but if I had to play his game, it'd be my Cali.

Some things have more meaning to me than my guitars, me being one of them. Get out and have an excuse to go guitar shopping later.
Some things are not so easily replaced. With Hamer gone, I'd never be able to replace the Calis so shopping after the fact isn't really a solution.

For that reason, I'd have my wife grab a couple of my axes, maybe strap one of them on the dog as well. /emoticons/default_laugh.png  /emoticons/default_laugh.png

They're all insured. I ain't grabbing' shit.

I'm getting my ass out of the house.
That does it, Kiz is never staying at my house!

In case of a fire - there is a five guitar minimum removal when exiting the residence. I pity the person that only grabs four - their ass is going back in for that fifth guitar. /emoticons/default_tongue.png

Hamerica

My yellow Sustainer Chap Elite for sure. Besides being my favorite guitar I haven't seen another lefty chap with a sustainer and can't imagine too many were made so it would be very hard to replace.

That's probably for the best then.

I love ya, Brian, but make no mistake: I'd run over my Grandmother to get out of a burning building.

All of my family and close friends know: If you're wondering what is the fastest way out of a burning building, it's behind me.

You're either behind me or under me. No exit? I'll make one.

By the way, this is me.

My Vox Constellation teardrop bass was all that survived from a housefire decades ago. It was at my drummer's house, where we rehearsed.

Not sure what I would try to grab....but I have my stuf split up in two locations, partly so that choice never happens again.

Housefires suck. Can never get that smell out of your stuff.

I'm shocked to realize this, but it'd probably be my Hofner 500/1. It's a nothing special bass that feedbacks like crazy, but it has the greatest sentimental value to me.

My guitar storage rack is on wheels - that would cover 18-20 depending on case thickness. That whole rig would get rolled out after the fams.

I'd also grab a hand cannon on the way out. /emoticons/default_wink.png

I'd grab the Shishkov but the case is so big I'd be trapped in the inferno, trying to get it through the door. It's why I just ordered an SKB soft/hard/bag/case whatever.
Haha... that's funny polar!! /emoticons/default_biggrin.png

Sorry to hear that this was actually a REALITY for you mc2!

I had a friend in college that was asleep at his girlfriends house when a fire broke out... He got everyone out safely but then decided to go back in and 'save' some stuff... He wound up getting burned pretty bad!! That will FOREVER stay in my mind!!

I hope it's obvious that this thread had nothing to do with a REAL fire!

This is all making me think that I should keep my favorite Hamer closer to the door... a TRUE "grab & go!!! /emoticons/default_biggrin.png/emoticons/default_biggrin.png/emoticons/default_biggrin.png

^^^^^^^*

Yeah, in my case it also happened around 3 a.m......when I was asleep and hungover from a wedding reception that night of my former roommates. I woke up thinking my alarm was going off and after hitting it a number of times, I realized something lse was making the sound. So I got up and wandered thru the apartment WELL hungover, trying to find the sound. As I opened up my music room door, flames were running up the ceiling and everything was on fire. Talk about INSTANTLY SNAPPING UP TO SOBER!! Woah.

I ran downstairs to wake up the landlord and his wife, yelling "FIRE!" He thought I was exaggerating and insisted on going upstairs to look with me. We ran upstairs and as he turned the corner and saw flames, he also instantly woke up all the way and yelled "FIRE!"

We ran downstairs and he called the fire department.

It was a big old three-story house in Rochester, NY, circa 1900. It was also snowing out and around 20 degrees. As the firetrucks arrived, I only then realized that I was standing in front of the house watching with only my jeans on.....no shirt, barefoot....pure adrenline keeping me warm I guess. A fireman gave me a pair of fireman boots to put on and a fireman jacket and let me sit in the cab of a firetruck....as I watched them chopping the house up with axes and throwing all my shot out the windows in flames. Very surreal. Besides my music gear, I also lost my entire 3000+ rare vinyl LP collection (I was an FM radio DJ at the time there.)

In hindsight, I guess I was lucky to wake up despite being hung over from a wedding and not have died from smoke. I ended up flopping on my neighbor's couch for the next few weeks until I could get relocated. My Vox teardrop, SUNN 2000S head and two 1x15 cabs is all that survived, being at my drummers house.

Oh.....and the firemen "saved" a tree stump I ised for a coffee table, plus my former roommate's new wife's snowpac boots.

That actually got a laugh out of me when, after they had the fire out, they came to tell me they saved some things...and showed me THAT. /emoticons/default_smile.png That charred, wet smell sticks in my mind....and how it is pretty i possible to get the smell out or the soot off of anything.

Ironically, years later, I bought my first "rental house"....a huge three-story, fire-damaged bulding that took me a year to rebuild by myself. DejaVu....and a dumbass move, in hindsight.

I'd grab my little dog. Here she was, Dec. 2011 when we brought her home from the rescue shelter.
