Hamer Bass Head Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I thought of this immediately when saw the post stating the tour was not happening this year; but put off posting this til now.... I don't know about anyone else, but the tour is cool but the part I really look forward to is before the tour in Kim's office, Holly-Ann's famous cookies, lunchtime talking with everyone and hoping *&%$#@ FUNG doesn't move my seat, Dinner, THE JAM and the hotel after-party and Saturday breakfast (and a few other things I won't mention in the interest of keeping the peace. How do you guys and girls feel about getting together either in Winsor Locks (as usual) or somewhere else for a get-together without the tour part??? I look forward to seeing you idjits as much as anyone I know....(Well most of you anyway!) any thoughts?
serial Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 That would be cool-great idea. Maybe we could just loiter in the parking lot, look pathetic, take oaths of secrecy and get 'em to let us in too! The jam would be fun.
HamStd Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Hey BillyBob: I'll hop a plane out to CT to join in on the festivities as long as you put on a dress and wig and let me spank your bare ass........ AND I don't have to share a room with Cary, we all know why "Cary needs a room to himself".PeterP.S. Billybob please clarify your signature line: The "snake" you are referring to is your snakeskin 12 string..... There are many great lengths I'll go to to uncover a cool Hamer, but touching your snake is definitely not one of them........Loves ya!!!!!
Steve Haynie Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Comic book and science fiction conventions started this way.
SirDouglas Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 RAWRR!!!!!!........ git some more peeps involved and ill be there... this hot weather is killing me.... hurry up too so i can set the stash up... Sir Douglas Randy
ceeb Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 You wanna rent the Kof C hall? If we get enough people interested, I'll find out how mucho, and take a Paypal collection. We'd need to figure out a PA and back line etc, but I think there are enough locals (or somewhat locals) to put together a 1/2 decent setup.
atquinn Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I'm in, but I'm a local so I don't know if that counts.-Austin
SirDouglas Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 lets rent out the KFC Hall..... im hungry.... hehe Sir Douglas Randy

Easy for YOU to say, you're probably USED to going without for long periods of time
Jon_Press Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 That sounds like a great idea Bill. Laura and I would definitely be interested in something like that. Maybe if we get enough people together we could get Jol to come in and do his road show. And it would be WAY cool if Jol and Frank U. joined us for the jam.I can't believe so few people responded positively to this thread. Can it be that some of our bretheren would only go if there was a chance to win a guitar?

Mike_C Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Actually I have a custom order that was supposed to be ready for the Open house so I will be up that way anyhow to pick it up. I agree the tour is one thing but the get together the Jam Dinner at Sophia's that is what made it cool.
thecajunboy Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I'd really love to, but I'd likely hold out for an HFC next year. Plane fare ain't my favorite thing to spend money on. This will also give me the chance to head to Arlington in October and not crowd the schedule up too much.
phantomgt Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I'd be down with just getting together and doing everything else just like we always do, except the tour, which frankly has gotten REAL old, and boring.Sure it's nice to be there, but there's nothing new going on.I'd rather be spending the vacation time off of work having a blast with my friends, and not on any stinking early ass schedule. ya know?
Hamer Bass Head Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 BUMP!!!!please reply if you are interested so we can try to make some sor of decision as to whether or not to go ahead....
holLoWskull Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I've got a couple family birthdays in October, but if the proposed "tour" date(s) don't conflict with either of those, I'd be up for making the 2-hour trek East.
JohnnyThunders Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I got nothing do....nowhere to go oh...I want to be Hamer'd........I'm in anyone else from Ohio want to drive on up.....
HamerHokie Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Comic book and science fiction conventions started this way. Yep, this is a little too Trekkie for me.
Mike_C Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I got nothing do....nowhere to go oh...I want to be Hamer'd........I'm in anyone else from Ohio want to drive on up..... Depending on the dates I'd be up for a road trip.
Jon_Press Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 There is nothing "Trekkie" or comic book convention about this. This is about a bunch of musicians who know each other for years, many of whom have actually become good friends, wanting to hang out and party and play in CT in OCT just like they (we) have for years now. There is always some kind of post here about virtual friends here hanging out in the real world.Last week Laura and I were at Mr. and Mrs. BillyBob's (HamerBass Head's) house for a BBQ. This Tuesday he will likely come to Laura's gig. As will Craig, Tommy Williams and maybe Buzzy Frets. Since it is on L.I. and she is opening for Adrian Belew I wouldn't be surprised if others turned out. I seriously doubt the Trekkies go to each others gigs and have BBQ's that yield visits from the cops after midnight on a regular basis.
