cordroad Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I believe this is an Oxford, pulled from my Sano amp. Is it, or what is it? Numbers in red are: 121011 1056 242 Thanks
AdmiralB Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 It *looks* like the Cleveland AlNiCos that were common in organs in the '60s, I've had a bunch yanked out of Conns. 1056 is the EIA code for Fisher, but I didn't know that Fisher made speakers. I'd presume that it's from the 42nd week of 1962.It probably sounds *great*, but I wouldn't trust it with more than 10W or so.
cordroad Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Thanks AB. It came out of Sano 20 watt dual channel. Of course, I don't know if it is original or not.I believe the amp was first made in 1959, according to a schematic I have. I agree that it is best suited for a low power amp. Really breaks up nicely when pushed, but gets a little flubby if pushed too much. Any guess as to value?
AdmiralB Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Value? Nah, no idea. You might search eBay for completed auctions for Cleveland and Rola AlNiCos from the '60s. My gut says not much, maybe $30, but I might be totally wrong.
cordroad Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Thanks much! Not necessarily gonna sell it, but I'll look into it.
