I've owned three Suhrs and still own one. As (mostly) everyone said, the build quality is exceptional. Great selection of woods, impeccable fretwork (due to the plek machine), and IMO, great pickups. Comparing Suhr to Anderson is like apples and oranges. They both make excellent guitars, but have a way different vibe. I have one of each along with two D'Pergo's and they all are exceptional guitars (for bolt on guitars
).

The Vector aspired to travel. Who wouldn't want to spend some time in Hawaii with Pluto?
But, I am happy it is heading back home.
Thanks, Pluto!
This means I'm probably going to be selling the '91 one-off Standard...
thanks again Joe. PS-don't forget to send me a contact number for UPS if you haven't already. thanks, Mark

this is back up for sale-can't get used to the neck at all. 1900 shipped anywhere in the US via UPS 2nd day air. No trades please. thanks, Mark
AND YOU GUYS CALL ME "FLIPPY"!!!! hehe
Yea, his 4 weeks vs. your 4 minutes.
That's kinda like the same thing...
$1900 is a sick, stoopid, low price for this guitar!
actually, for the record, I've had it for 2 months.
(but, yes I have flipped flopped quite a bit over the 2 months!!)

thanks to those who inquired about the guitar. To those who sent a message via the hamer message board, sorry I didn't get back to you guys earlier but my msn email account put those messages in my trash file for some reason. Anyway, I'm going to give the neck another shot. It is very big, but I'm willing to give the guitar some time to get used to it. Sorry and thanks.

I was the original owner, and sold it to Jerseydrew. I had the Fralins put in, and BCR did the tort guard at my request. The tort guard was made from some amazing stuff that Greg had. It looks fantastic. It was either late 2004 or early 2005 IIRC. The guitar was actually speced out for someone else who had to bail for financial reasons.
BTW...that guitar had a brush with fame...LOL!!
I played it at our first Hard Rock Cafe gig. We absolutely killed that night and the place was packed. Halfway through the night some dude comes up on stage and announces that we have a celebrity in the audience, and he wants to play a song with us. No problem, he picks a song and comes up. It was Ginger from The WildHearts. At the time I didn't know who the "F" this dude was but I was willing to play along. So big rockstar comes up on stage decked out in leather and studs, and asks for my guitar. ROTFLMAO!! I look at him like he is crazy and tell him "absolutely not" He looks disgusted, but proceeds anyway. We play "I want You to Want me" and he sings....well, to put it bluntly, he sucked. He screwed up the words and sounded like someone was kicking a dog. The crowd that was going crazy became less than enthused, and when he got off the stage we went right back into our set. For the rest of the night our singer made fun of him...he kept saying into the mic..."Who the fuck was that guy?" The crowd laughed their asses off every time he did it.
Thanks Poe for the history. Hate to admit it, but I actually used to like the Wildhearts! They were (are?) like Motorhead mixed up with the Beatles-Suckerpunch is a rocking song. Anyway, thanks for the info. and help over the last couple of days.
The Wildhearts kicked absolute ass when they opened for The Darkness a summer or two ago. Great band. AND Ginger was wearing a Cheap CHICK t-shirt when I saw them.
Killer Vector. What's the deal with the neck profile?
The neck is supposedly a 59 les paul profile neck. To me, it feels a bit fatter. I have a very difficult time getting used to fat necks given the size of my hands. In addition, I used to own a gibby v before in the early 90's, but damn, sitting down with a V shape guitar can be a hard adjustment. Back to the Wildhearts, do you know if CJ is still with them or did he leave again?

This guitar is going back up for sale. I bought this guitar from kilroy and have not been able to adjust to the neck profile. Selling this for $2000 shipped anywhere in the USA. Thanks, Mark

Email me for the details, Pluto.
greg at bcrmusic.com
email sent-Thanks BCRGreg, although, it looks like Poe has the history covered.

it's true that she's leaving...to another attorney
thanks, it's sold to a righteous hawaii resident
kilroy
thanks all of those positive posts and especially those killer
bcr pictures.
Thanks Rob (kilroy) for the great deal. I just sent out the check-Really, it's in the mail!!!
Thanks also to those I emailed about this guitar for giving me savvy and much appreciated advice re: this guitar. I don't know much about the history of this guitar except that the neck was spec'ed from a les paul and that BCR did the pickguard stuff. Just out of curiosity, and I suppose Edgarallenpoe would be the one to ask, but does anyone else know more about it (year, why the neck was spec'ed from a LP, how many have owned this guitar besides Poe, Jerseydrew and kilroy, etc.)? Thanks, Mark

Pete Way was my idol
Waysted = best band name ever.
And quite appropriate since Pete was always waysted back then.

Classic lineup on the new DVD? Yes, in a way. The Michael stories alone on this thing are as worthy as songs! You gotta hear Phil & Paul doing MS's voice when they tell these stories. The Toilet Rendevous story is one of the funniest band stories I've EVER heard!
Plutos tips are good, I'll add that if you're making a choice between the 2, go with the Too Hot To Handle UFO story video.
Yeah, that bathroom story was definitely the high light of the interview session. I couldn't stop laughing, but I had to keep reversing the part when Phil talks to the manager in the bathroom cause I couldn't understand what the hell Phil said. I wonder who that manager was?

Dave -- back in '79 I had the pleasure of seeing AC/DC (with Bon Scott) open for UFO. The only thing that would have made that night more complete was if Schenker had been on the tour. Paul Chapman was there. Don't get me wrong... Paul did a great job.... but for me, UFO will always be Mogg/Way/Schenker/Parker & I'll even include Raymond.
Does the DVD include anything from the classic lineup?
No, the DVD only includes the German concert with the new line up and a live studio session again with the new line-up. Ironically, this line-up has changed already as Andy Parker is back as Jason Bonham decided to leave (which is too bad because Bonham is awesome). If you want dvd footage from the classic line-up, check out the critic review of the Strangers in the Night DVD-it has four concert songs of a really young Michael Schenker with UFO and 2 more songs (one with Mick Bolton and the other being a made for TV video with Schenker) or the Too Hot to Handle-Story of UFO reissue DVD that has a bit of Schenker.
