Is this a lacquer or poly finish?

Thanks for the replies. I'm quite relieved to hear it's not structural. I'm loving the guitar and hated the thought of parting with it/dealing with an Ebay return issue. I'll look up the posts you folks mentioned. I play primarily Gibson guitars with a few others in the mix, and had never seen anything like this. Thanks again.

Hello all, first post here. I just purchased my first Hamer, it's a 1996 USA Studio Goldtop model, and I have a question about the neck/body joint on these. I bought the guitar from Ebay so I didn't have the opportunity to see it before buying, and the seller didn't mention this at all. The neck pocket has what appears to be either excess glue under the finish, or, the finish itself is coming away from the wood in that area. It doesn't show well in the photos, but it encompasses the whole neck/body joint, not just adjacent to the binding. My concern is that it's the latter and due to stress on a weak joint. The guitar seems to be fine though, and with no cracks, only the milky appearance of the finish there, I can't find anything that makes it appear to be coming apart. Does anyone know if this is normal with these guitars? I have a number of guitars and have never seen this before. Thanks for your help.
