musicman1968 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Can anyone tell me what size wrench I will need to adjust the truss rod on an 89 Centaura? I have one in desperate need of a truss rod adjustment--and no wrench!! I thought maybe I could use a socket or nut driver, but neither will fit down in the slot. Gary
pesocaster Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I think it's the same generic size as most Gibsons.... if that helps....
musicman1968 Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 I found a manual on the hamer site that said the current models were 5/16" but I didn't know if mine would be the same. If it is 5/16", does anyone known where I could get one? I usually order parts/tools from stewart macdonald but they only have 1/4" and 9/32".
pesocaster Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 You could probably stop by any music store and they would have one... Good luck
musicman1968 Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 Not in my neck of the woods. Only one shop, and they suck! Mostly over priced band instruments. They had no Idea what I was asking for. They thought I needed an allen wrench. Anyone know the size? I could probably find one online. Anyone have a favorite place for tools/parts?
musicman1968 Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 problem solved!! I found a wrench at sears that had a thin enough side wall to fit. I had to remove the string retainer to adjust it but it worked great. It was 5/16" if anyone else needed to know.
