  1. Thanks Kilroy.. Its hard to keep an open mind. Dont get me wrong, i wouldnt pay $1200 for it either. I dont like it. But its not what I like..its the what someone in the world is willing to pay. For the record, i didnt misquote any prices.. If you want me to take a picture of the 06 Vintage Magazine price guide, page 129 and post it, i will. Complain to them if you think the 6 on a side is worth more. I happen to like 6 on a side headstocks myself.
  2. ..And for what its worth, the Union Jack one looks to be a very nice example. I wouldnt pay $300 for a Union Jack guitar. I think its ugly. If i were in some Def Leppard tribute band, then id be all over it. But im not. So the $580 its at, to me, is over priced. Maybe I should start a post and bash that guy like youve all done to me. Wait, im new here so my opinions and views are worthless.
  3. $69.00 flat rate shipping for that guitar is more then fair. Its a heavier then average guitar. The box and materials cost money. Have you any idea what it would cost to ship that guitar from my state, NJ, to Hawaii or West coast? I would, because ive done it dozens of times. Like I said, you are all welcome to your opinions. The guitar isnt for you. It will go. And why feel bad if someone pays more then you would? People have paid more and less for things you own. Something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. My feedback is my credibility. Other then the mook that bought my used Nokia cell phone and complained of surface scratches after viewing the SUPERSIZED pictures, check his feedback.. He did it to 4 other people.. My feedback is perfect, and will remain. I am 100% forthrite. I cant confirm they are original and im led to believe theyre not. Im not a Hamer professor and never claim to be. Guitar hasnt been refretted to my knowledge and the board is in great condition: hence, not an issue. as for the first auction, like Hamerhead and I posted, i was mis informed on the history of the guitar and ended the auction within 45 mins of its start. Dont sit there and tell me thats not credible. I didnt know, i learned, i reacted. As for the "butchered electronics" i have a 1979 BC Rich Mockingbird which will fetch somewhere near $3000.00US. They are incredibly hot in the market and they were basically made in a garage using scrap parts of amps and other guitars. The soldering looks like a kid in his basement did it and even has electrical tape! And thats ORIGINAL!
  4. Why are people so pessimistic when it comes to other people's things? Because its mine, its not worth but $350 (like thats reality). Im sure if you were selling it, youd be sitting here saying its worth a fortune because its so rare (and yours). I suppose the car you bought last year for $24,000 is still worth $24,000 in your mind and "Brand New", right?! Im not pessimistic when i see people offering things that I feel are priced too high. Its none of my business and I move on. Why do you select few feel the need to degrade me ("Good Luck With That"). If I had a dollar for every forumite that told me, "good luck with that" id be a rich man. Oh wait, I am a rich man! If it makes you feel better and gets you thru the day, im glad I could be of some help to you. Im concerned as to what will get you thru tomorrow.. No one has said, "Wow. what an unusually rare piece you have there. I hope you have great luck selling it." I think Hamerhead mis-represented this forum. I've gotten a lot of emails WorldWide from some decent people saying its a really nice instrument and they wish they had a few extra bucks to spend. Nice to see the decent side of humanity still exists, even in small quantities.
  5. 2006 Vintage Guitar Magazine Price guide page 129 top left. 1982-1984 3 on a side peghead $900 1984-1990 6 on a side peghead $750 Im a fool. Its not my guitar. With all respect..ive been playing and trading guitars for a few years. Certainly not a pro, but also im not an amateur. If i listened to every know-it-all on forums as far as pricing, i might as well give it up. My specialty is ESP. The ESP forum people mock every auction ive made, saying im crazy. Ya know what, ive sold just about every guitar for a lot more then they'd pay. My $1900.00 Hanneman that they said was only worth $900-$1100. My $1600 DV8-R SE which they would only pay $800 for. Im not one to let other people determine my destiny. Thats why my handle is Red Scuderia and not Red Corvette. This isnt a debate. Respectfully, to you its not worth over $600..and thats great. This guitar isnt for you. There is a lead guitarist in an 80's hairband out there in this world of over 4 billion people that will think its worth over $600, over $800, over $1500..
  6. I appreciate all your feedback. Its not my guitar, though. FYI, the 3 on a side peg head books for about $200-$300 more then a 6 on a side. Go figure. Book on a 1984 Blitz 3 peg is (hold on to your hats) $950.00 Remember, Ebay is worldwide. Ive already been offered over $800 for it but, no sale. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Im a hard rock guy..and I prefer ESP's (dont kick me out!) I know the Kahler gets a lot of flack from the Hamer guys, but the best Heavy metal guitar ive ever owned was my older ESP Hanneman signature w/ Kahler. I like floyds, dont get me wrong. My favorite, overall guitar is the Peavey EVH Wolfgang. Ive had a bunch of those and always love going back to it. I like the Floyd model better then the hard tails (ive had both). Ive had about 5 KH-3 ESP's and they sound killer, but i dont like the feel. Too much weight for my liking.
  7. Dont suppose anyone here knows how many Zebra style explorers they made?? Was it a custom thing or a regular catalog piece?
  8. Ok Ok.. Forgive me on that one. Let me just say Thank you to Hamerhead. He got me the info I needed to end that auction. Guitar was given to me recently to sell. Ive never owned or played a Hamer of any type. Being a Metallica freak the last 18 years of my life, I know James' guitars and a few Gibsons. Any how, I couldnt find any info on this axe. Every Standard and Blitz I saw didnt have all the switches. He had mentioned it was a Ted sig series from early 80's. I asked him where the heck his Signature was. Im not a big Ted fan musically, but I know he was always into the animal hide, hunting thing. Any who, he took it to a local GC and was told that it was probably an old Nugent Sig?!?!? I made the auction, listed it and sure as heck within like 20 mins i had a few emails from nice folks telling me it was a Blitz model. They made a few in 1984 with all those option switches and the Floyd. When I got the last one, Hamerhead, i knew my buddy was shot out and ended the auction. Im a lot of things, but a fraud isnt one of them. He then directed me here. My friend has since got his facts a little straighter and will try to sell it for less. I did relist it for him. So yes..laugh away. I plead ignorance. I will say I really do like the way it plays out and feels. I also like that Mick Mars picture. PS-- Anyone wanna buy a 1984 Hamer Blitz Zebra? Always cheaper to do things off of Ebay. Curse those outrageous fees!
