Who owns that hardtail now? That was a great guitar, I should never have sold it. Wow, you sold it? I would have kept it (I hate trems), but couldn't get past the jumbo frets on it...

Just checked with Kim Keller. Most Daytonas were ash but there were a few alder bodies too. In his opinion and based on the weight he thinks it is probably ash, fwiw. Makes sense -- the Hardtail and the other alder Daytona I had were both featherweights...

Most '96s were alder, no? You could pull the neck and see what the body wood looks like... That's what I did on The Hardtail Daytona, and it was obviously alder...

My vote for best guitar-less band would go to Weather Report, especially their "Heavy Weather" from the late '70's. You bass players would find it interesting...

The one guitar I regret 'letting go' the most was a Daytona. I swear that one didn't weigh more than five pounds! By the way, whatever happened to The Hardtail Daytona? Also a featherweight, but I couldn't deal with the jumbo frets it was apparently special-ordered with...
