My local hardware store is going out of business and I can't pass up a bargain. I think perhaps I should have purchased these in Black instead of Satin Nickel, and they only had the 4" size. I'm afraid they may not fit.

I’m pretty much a Strat, Les Paul (Standard) and LP DC Jr. player. I don’t believe I’ve ever played an Explorer shaped electric. Played a Gibson Firebird once, now that’s a l-o-n-g guitar. The Fender Jazzmaster is dang big, too. Is the Explorer comfortable to play sitting down? How about that hefty body point on the bass side, butt end: Does it interfere with the forearm? I don’t play in a band and don’t practice standing up. And let’s just say the contours of the Strat body fit the contours of my brawny frame. I’d like to try one but right now is not optimal for guitar window shopping.

I'm in the SF-Bay area. Got this from BCR back around 2006 I think. It's a player, lots of battle scars. When I got it from BCR, they said that it had period correct pickups in it, but not original. Phase switch was there when I got it, actually pretty useful, so I left it. That is the original case there in the linked online photo gallery, beat to heck, stripped to the wood, but I think its state is appropriate to the guitar. I also have an SKB gig bag, which is very sturdy and has a lot of hard structure to it and is very protective. Priced at $4000 See more Pics h

Boy! They just keep raising the Standard for excellence. And I'm in my winter broke mode. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Standard-USA-SUPER-SWEET-MINT-Case-WOW-607-/131101275401?pt=Guitar&hash=item1e863eb509
