Diablo I vs. Diablo II

So my band finally gets a gig for this Friday. At practice, I've been switching between a Daytona, Monaco Elite and a Diablo II. I pulled out my Diablo I for back up incase I break a string or have Floyd issues. I plugged it in and it sounded as thin as the Daytona! Has anyone else come across this? What pickups were used in the Diablo's anyway? The II has DiMarzio on them and I might just replace what is the the I if I can find out what those are.

Anyway, the IIs have an Air Norton neck, a Tone Zone bridge, and a custom middle that was called the "SH-2" - it's just an HS-2 (the first-generation stacked single) with only the top bobbin wound. Eric Johnson allegedly used an HS-2 wired with only the top coil active, so they ran with that for a while.

The regular Diablos had two JBs ('92 only), a JB and a '59N ('93-'94), or an Air Norton and Tone Zone ('94-up).
