Craig S Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I have a variety of speakers in different ohms and I would like to get them where they are consistent and can be used with the gear I have.Currently I my setups are such:Avatar 2x12: 16ohm V30 and 16ohm Emi Texas Heat parallel wired = 8ohms, I use this with my Speedtwin head 100w. I've run this with the my 8 ohm Emi Wizard and Governor in series for a 16 ohm load. 50 watt Switchblade = 8ohms I have to use a pigtail adapter to run an extension. If swapped the stock speaker for the 16ohm V30 I then have two parallel jacks in the back I can hit for 8ohms plus a 16 ohm jack=much easier.1x12 with a 8ohm Wizard. Basically only usable with the Switchblade extension. Both the Trace and Powerblock can overpower this cab as a standalone. Lots blah blah here... How many run cabs with a 8 ohm/16 ohm mix?
flattop Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I wouldnt mix impedances as you risk frying your map if you go below 4 ohms.Stick with 2 16,s id say.
