Presenting the formerly owned by royalty (pirateflynn) :D and others, it was rick perotta's personal amp and modified by his partner Mark Sampson in Matchless in '1992, the 'hot rod' is a one-of-kind MATCHLESS HC-30 amp head, class A, 30 watts adjustable, EF-86 tube preamp channel and the standard 12AX7 preamp channel with the 'hot rod' feature added to this channel to create more of a 'brownsound' overdrive in leiu of the vox ac30 overdrive. Uses tube rectifer, not solid state, and EL84 output tubes. Includes new, heavy-duty road-case with storage compartment and amp cover in silver. I've got the original letter from Rick Perotta to a former owner, which I'll include, but won't post because the letter has personal information (ie home address). the letter explains the amps origin and special hot rod feature and work done by Mark Sampson.

'in the evening' picture with the tasty "matchless' lighting..

thanks for looking and drop me an email if you're interested in buying it. As for trades, I'd take a Mark Sampson era DC-30 and cash, yet looking for a cash deal--ideally.

That's one of my favorite scores!

The 59th HC30 made - March of '92 and one of the very first amps built in the N. Hollywood shop. The earlier ones were actually made at the homes of Rick Perrotta and Mark Sampson. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Perrotta after I aquired the amp. He went through it and spent a couple of hours with me talking about the old days. A dynamite guy and a dynamite amp! Very, very hard to come by one of the early ones, especially in this condition.
