blackfbiv Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I finally decided to take the FB bass in for the 'big bottom re-fit'.PLaying 5-string mostly (99%), I have neglected it to no end. Ya know, I truly miss playing the FB. It was my main bass for soooo many years. (I briefly toyed with the idea of selling it, but...)So in 10 days or so I'll have it back. New Volume pots...and strung BEAD. I asked him to make a new nut, and to give me all my old parts (for posterity I guess). A nice set-up and I'm of to the races. Look out Sunday morning, 'blackfbiv' is back... hahahaI hope my lower back can take the strain, it's been a looong time since I had to wear this baby.Dion
Stevieconlon Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Sounds great! That's what I did with my 76 bicentennial bird a little more than 2 years ago. I was tired of changing to a five string every time we did something low. I've been very happy with it. In fact, I had two other basses tuned down to BEAD. The only downside is that not having a full two octave fretboard combined with the t-bird cutaway makes some of the higher runs a bit challenging.
