barneyrumble Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Up for sale is the Prototype I got from Guitar Center a couple weeks back. As you can see it will need some work to return to "normal"...but the truth is it plays awesome as it is. I do not have the time nor skill to do a decent re-finish. I was considering just doing the headstock and leaving the rest as it is, but with below zero temps here and no warm shop to do any refinishing in....it wouldn't turn out. Anyways...it looks a Surface mount trem was removed...the hole did not go through the body like a strat. Mahogany was dropped in to fill the gap for the trem and also to fill the space where the triple coil single was located. The Seymour Duncan is an SH-4 and sounds great. Controls are smooth...responsive and solid. Frets are in very good shape...a little wear on the G. The nut is one of the best I have seen. Price reduced before off to ebay... Anyway...I would like to get $360 with a new RoadRunner case...or $300 with no case. Both prices include shipping to the lower 48 and I foot the PayPal fees. Here is a back shot: And, the back of the neck: And, last but not least the contol cavity...nice and clean. At any rate, this is a real solid guitar...and no wonder with all that mahogany!
