JohnnyB Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 At the Pesocaster-hosted NWHFC BBQ and Guitar Geekfest, I took along my little Ampeg Jet II R. The II indicates it's a reissue, the R stands for Reverb. 15-20 watts, 12Ax7s and EL84s, tank reverb. Has lots of nice sounds in that puppy, including the great playing response that tubes provide. He bought it from me and the money was burning a hole in my pocket until I put out the fire Wednesday with this! It's an Electro-Harmonix Freedom Amp. Very clear sound, incredibly punchy and LOUD! And you don't have to plug it in when you play. I plan to use it out on the back deck and other places. Damn, I love this amp. It's so musical, it gives me exactly the sound I was looking for with my jazz box (and does great with my other thinlines and hollowbodies, and of course I can take it anywhere cuz it has a rechargeable battery good for 4 hours. A win-win situation. We're both happy. Thanks again.
pesocaster Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Hey Johnny,Nice.....I've seen those around... wouldn't reall do what I would want it too... but I could see it being perfect for you.... I am really digging the Ampeg! ...... I have been dragging all my old pedals out trying to make a giggable rig...... Ampegs love pedals.... and the clean sounds are HUGE out of this little bugger! so far I have TOC Wah / Octave / phase 90 / Boss SOD /Tube King / Vol Pedal / Boss DD2 Delay.... for right now... hahahhaha ... forgot how much fun pedals were... may end up going with a different OD .... maybe a Tech 21 or something... regardless... I'm having a blast! Thanks again!
