GuitarDoyle Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 I have to say I will be on the fence for a while on this till I get out and play a Monaco. I am thinking the Monaco with the blended heel may have better upper access than an LP...after all it's that block of wood that gets I the way.The Heatley looks sweet! But, it does remind me of an LP and I think why not just get a Historic Gold Top which is something I've wanted for quite a while.
GuitarDoyle Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 Greg, do you have many Monacos in stock? I am hoping they still have some of that LP chunk. Hehe
Guest GuitarStunts Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Well, I'll play the bad guy...I have played all the Monaco/SuperPro/Subtone/Elite line.I have a Sub and sold a custom chamber bomb azz Elite. My take is the longer scale the better. I love the Sub and the Monaco/Sp's are also not an issue. The Elite however was so intrusive and it just plain shit the bed, IMO.I saw the pic of the blended heel Elite and no offense to the owner or anyone that likes it...but the heel wasn't the problem. It's that shelf that bites. It feels much bigger than any LP I've played.I suggest a good demo if you can. You may like it as some others.
GuitarDoyle Posted March 18, 2005 Author Posted March 18, 2005 It looks like I may be taking ride over to Greg's store assuming he has some Monacos in stock. A blended heel Monaco Elite may be on my wish list over an LP Historic for something different.
