Andrew Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 You need a generic Floyd arm, a M6 die, M6 nut, M6 Ny-loc nut, two M6 nylon washers. The thread on the floyd arm needs to be extended further up the shaft, nearer to the bend. Put the ordinary nut on and tighten hard, then a nylon washer. Feed through the baseplate. Put on the other washer then the ny-loc nut and tighten to suit. The ny-loc nut won't loosen like a normal nut.I think it's M6 but confirm the thread that Schaller use.Just like the original but metric.Edited to add that it is a M6 thread and for which the nuts are 10mm.
Andrew Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Sorry to bump, but I wanted to check that the advice was useful and whether you needed more detail?I have just done exactly this modification on a 1983 Phantom A5 and it looks just right.
