These were marketed as being the lead channel of an SLO but I don't think they had the same king shit transformers. The rest of the circuit might be identical for all I know.

Close enough for rock and roll, though, and this is the definitive high-gain tone to my ears. The depth control is nice for adding girth at lower volumes.

This amp, the 50-watt no-FX-loop version, has never left my house since I bought it new from Musician's Friend many years ago.
