  1. 1) When I contacted the seller initially, it was on Craigslist, not Ebay. 2) The description of the guitar changed every week while it was on craiglist...the year, the wood, a "Pro" set-up, oh wait...now it has the original strings and has never been set-up! That's why it didn't sell on Craigslist! 3) I never asked for any special treatment and told the seller I would bid on it through Ebay if I liked it...what's wrong with that? The guy wouldn't even give me his first name! No matter if it's a car or guitar, if you are the seller and want to get top dollar, you accomodate your customers (and potential customers). That's part of doing business.
  2. For what it's worth: I live about 5 minutes away from the seller and can't see the guitar in person. When I asked to see the guitar, this is the response I got... Sorry-there are already bids on it etc. Wouldn't be fair to the other 600 people who have viewed it online, I think an EBay seller terms violation actually. I removed it from Craigslist a couple days ago when I realized I couldn't have it for sale on both (after the first bid) It is as advertised. Could use a string change, maybe a setup, but it's a major plank of tone wood, killer pickups, un-dinged, just too heavy for my tired old neck and never played much because it was collectible and, well, heavy. The customer service manager for Hamer said blanks like that are impossible to get these days and that it was worth as much as $3500 (he also verified the wood as mahogany and the year as '96). Beyond that...gotta go 'cause I have 5 questions to answer about it from eBay members. I asked to see the guitar again, and got blown off again. The guitar is probably real, but the seller has some...issues
  3. Dayum!!! Old school, New school, and Future school all in one! That's it! I need to sell some gear this year so I can get a custom built!!! Oh Hell Yes!!!
  4. OK, these are my only Hamers, both purchased this year. I avoided Hamers for years...I always thought of them as cork sniffer fare...man, I was wrong! '05 Artist Custom
