I have looked around for a schematic for the phantom/prototype with no luck. the current tone control seems less effective than my similar age Phantom custom. I am thinking going to a no load tone pot with a .039 uF cap in a 50s style arrangement. does anyone have any tips?

They best I have tried recently (maybe ever) is the Javelina by Sheptone, available exclusively from BB's Tone Solutions. It really does a much better Gibbons/Pearly Gates tone than the (sometimes shrill) Duncan PG.
