Hard one to let go, but putting my 2005 Hamer USA Korina Vector (GVKS) up for sale. This is the standard production model that followed the limited Brazilian run, and it features the exceptional build quality you’d expect from the 05-06 era. The Elephant in the Room: It has had a headstock repair. However, this wasn't a "local shop" fix. The restoration was performed by Jason Dumont (LapKing). For those who know Jason’s pedigree with Hamer, Guild, and Fender, his work is essentially factory-grade. The joint is rock solid and the guitar resonates exactly as a Korina V should. Specs: Body/Neck: African Limba (Korina) Pickups: Original Seymour Duncan '59 set Hardware: Original Gold (minor tarnishing as expected for '05) Case: Original Hamer Hardshell included Price: $3,500 plus shipping. I’m pricing this to reflect both its rarity and the high pedigree of the restoration. I've included some shots of Jason Dumont's restoration in progress for those who may have an interest

Last spring, my affliction spread past the original diagnosis of Hamer Addiction and I found that I was infected with full blown Korina-itis. I didn’t know much other than that there was a physical difference between Korina & mahogany, but I knew that I would have to get one. Or spend all of my time wanting one. As luck would have it, I was able to find a very fine example of an Artist Korina P90, ARTK, in Jazzburst. I really enjoy it. It is a spectacular guitar. Like my other Hamers, there is no reason on earth that a fumble thumbs like myself deserves such a fine instrument. http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/60590-ngd-01-ak/ But I still had the craving. I was haunted by the idea that I might have gone the wrong direction. As much as I love the P90s, I couldn’t help but wonder whether I wouldn’t be happier with the humbucker model. And would I be happier with a clear Vintage Korina finish rather than the Jazzburst? Friday I found out. Sorry for not posting sooner but it’s been a busy week-end. Also apologize for the poor pictures, not a good day for outdoor pics. [url [url I’ve only played it a short bit so far and I can’t say if I like one better than the other. All I know is that I THINK I REALLY LIKE KORINA! The ARTKHB seems to sound a little stronger unplugged than the ARTK, but not by any significant amount. They both are pretty damned amazing guitars. [url I repeat. There is no reason on earth that a fumble thumbs like myself deserves such fine instruments. But I'm going to enjoy them for a little while.
